“I like you because …”

Oops. I meant to publish this for Valentine’s Day, but I lost track of time, and I don’t believe in “should have” anyway. Besides, you don’t need one day of the year to show people you care! Any day is a good day to celebrate love and friendship with a good book, and I Like You, written by Sandol Stoddard Warburg and illustrated by Jacqueline Chwast, is the very book to send to someone you like a lot!

This mailable book is perfect to send to a child—remember how thrilling it was to get mail when you were little? If you send it to an adult, well, it’s nice to get things that aren’t bills or overdue notices from the library.

I Like You was first published in 1965, I think. Here’s the front cover:ilikeyouclassic

The Send-a-Story edition was introduced by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in 2011, and looks like this:

I love that it has the flap with “To” and “From” spaces and a spot for postage (make sure you buy enough!).
