The most wonderful thing about this book: its bookness! Constructed with thick, textured, art-style paper, it looks and feels like an artist’s sketchbook.
The story’s message is clear, but presented in a non-pedantic manner: It’s okay—normal, in fact—to make mistakes, because mistakes can transform into good things.
One of my favorite picture books of the year so far.
I recommend The Book of Mistakes for ages 3 through 7, and for anyone who needs reassurance that mistakes are a part of life—all you can do is learn from them and move on.
